Rhythm Syndicate was formed in 2002 by drummer Eric Olson and
percussionist/guitarist Zachery Price with the fundamental idea of
playing unique dance grooves from all over the world. Since the
band’s
inception, the two have slowly but steadily assembled an all-star cast
of the finest musicians in Seattle.
Salsa from Cuba,
Samba from Brazil, Muerga from Panama, second line from New Orleans and
plenty of funk from both the U.S. and the U.K. are incorporated into a
typical performance. The band’s book includes material from Tito
Puente, Cubanismo, Willie Colon, Joe Aroyo, Jamaroquoi, the Brand New
Heavies, the Brooks Brothers, James Brown, Tower of Power and Stevie
Wonder.
The Syndicate is a high energy group of well-traveled,
experienced musicians who are equally at home in either a nightclub or
at a private function. With a three piece horn section that’s
second to none and an infectious passion for the groove, you’ll
want to bring your dancing shoes and set your expectations nice and
high before a Rhythm Syndicate performance.
